1968
fender tele thinline
maple cap neck
"f" model bigsby
lots of pics
1968 was the first year of this model... well played mojo all over this fine player... not completely original... one tuner appears to have been changed... lead pickup appears to be from 1972... the inked in date code is real faint on the last two digits... the camera could not pick it up but I could barely make out the lower end of a 7 and the 2... the neck pickup cavity was opened up a little... possibly to make up for the shrinking original pickguard... the changed tuner is the low e and as seen in the pic... does not have the hole for the pinion shaft... I was also informed that the refret was done by if I am not mistaken... Valdez... he used to have a guitar shop across the street from guitar center on sunset blvd in hollywood... pro fret job needing a redress... but she plays xlnt and fret wear from serious playing is not an issue... bigsby appears to be as old as everything else on this guitar... although I am not certain the bigsby was not added after the guitar was originally shipped... it certainly appears to have been added after the body was drilled for the standard bridge... this is a very very fine player and I hate to let her go... a new/pre-owned guitar is the only reason I am letting this tone machine go!
the pickups are an xlnt match and there is no issues with switching between the two... no jump in output... very well matched level wise... I believe the maple cap neck was only made in the first year of production and is straight and has no issues other than the obvious play wear... the body has the same wear as well... the case appears to be the original and is missing the logo... the leather caps are very worn as is the handle and the latches close but lost their spring-SOLD
