1996 gibson les paul

special

  in tv yellow

This is one clean guitar for being 8 years old. The previous owner kept her in excellent condition. The neck is bound with the Black Faced headstock, Vintage style tuners and Gibson Logo in Mother Of Pearl inlay with the dotted i open b and open o. I was told by the previous owner that the pickups were the P90 models, not the later model P100 pickups. I have not confirmed that or the the copper shielded pickup cavity, the previous owner is reputable and performed the upgrades to the guitar in his audio electronics shop. I have made other purchases from this gentleman and he is the best!

The standard pots were changed out and a very special active DUAL preamp setup was installed to give a much improved and very dynamic 3 way tonal control. It now has an awesome 3 way parametric EQ! The original setup can be placed back in very easily if so desired. The stock setups on most guitars do not allow the pickups to really express themselves... this setup changes all that... a $225 upgrade that is sure to put a smile on your tone and your face!

You will notice the three small diameter knobs and the one large knob in the third picture above. The  large knob is the volume and the three smaller knobbed pots control the bass, treble and midrange separately. The pots have a detent at 12 o clock (viewing down in playing position). You can roll off or kick up the highs, lows or mids to your preferred level. This setup is powered by two 9 volt batteries which fit inside the cavity without any cutting whatsoever. The power drain is extremely low giving very long battery life. And you can plug in a pair of headphones with a $1.99 adapter from Radio Shack and you have a seriously portable travel amp built right in!

The picture above came out dark and my camera gets funny in the shade or in the dark. The top pictures show a better representation of the color. The case interior is neutral gray. Comes as is in the case and it is a very sweet player that has been pampered for her short 8 years.
