ONE OF THE BEST!
I had the rare and cherished opportunity to meet one of the finest Blues Rockers that ever rocked this earth. His name is Rory Gallagher.
I believe it was around December of 1979 and I had just been released from the hospital... I had a cast on my left leg from my upper thigh to my toes. I also had a broken wrist after slamming into a young girl's Dodge at 45 mph. My Buddy Dale Milner and I were sitting in a 1960's VW Van outside the Hollywood Palace... we had just seen Rory and his band rip up some awesome Irish Rockin' Blues... and we were waitin' for our bud, Greg Van Hofwegen as he was still in the venue and was tryin' (as he always did) to meet Rory and the band. All of a sudden Greg comes around the corner and says " Come on guys, Rory is in the bar and he is gonna sign my Tele!" Greg grabs his white 70's Telecaster and we go inside and I'm hobbling on in using my crutches... The next thing I know Greg is introducing Dale and I to Rory! Rory says to me, " looks like you had a bad sort o' luck." I shook his hand and all his band mates... I was very impressed at what a regular guy Rory Gallagher was... he was just a great person... a regular guy! I will always remember that time we all had... Meeting a Hero! Our Guitar Hero! Rory and the band all signed my cast, I am looking at the picture of what Rory had wrote on my cast...

What a great guy, I miss that guy! I'll never forget that day!
