the gibson guitar is indeed a tougher one to date, but searching around you will find that the serial number starting off with 177XXX gives it a date between 1970 t0 1975. i checked the electRonics to find that one pot was changed along with the neck pickup and the other two pots were dated the 41st week of 1973!
THE FRETS ARE WELL PLAYED AND STILL VERY PLAYABLE WITH THE ACTION SET LOW WITH NO BUZZ OR BENDING DROPOUTS

I JUST cleaned, set the intonation and RESTRUNG HER WITH A SET OF ERNIE BALL REGULAR SLINKYS... AND MAN DOES SHE SING THE BLUES... and better than LES PAULs twice her price!
the tone choices far exceed that of the more popular gibson guitars.
THE EXTRA THIN CONTOURED BODY SURE MAKES THIS GIBSON MODEL A SWEET PLAYER... I HAVE WAY TOO MANY GUITARS AND HAVE A NEW PROJECT COMING SO THIS SWEET LITTLE GEM HAS MADE THE LIST

ThIS l6s HAS HAD AN ADDITIONAL STRAP PEG MOUNTED ON THE BACK SIDE AND THERE IS ONE AS SEEN IN THE NEXT PHOTO... I AM NOT SURE WHICH ONE IS FACTORY?
the neck is straight
The l6s has a very cool NECK... NOT TOO CHUNKY ON THIS VERSION... ACTUALLY THIS NECK IS PRETTY THIN TO MY STANDARDS... (MY HANDS ARE NOWHERE NEAR THE SIZE OF JIMI'S)
THERE ARE SOME MARKS ON THIS 28 YEAR OLD... HERE ARE SOME ON THE BACK OF THE NECK... THEY DON'T GET IN MY WAY AS I TEND TO SLIDE ALONG THE DOT MARKED SIDE(TOP EDGE) CHECK OUT THAT VOLUTE!

THERE IS A LITTLE FLAME IN THE THREE PIECE NECK...
AND THE BACK SHOWS SOME WEAR... BUT THIS ONE IS A PLAYER!
