very early
japanese tele
you all know this stuff but here ya go... the early japanese guitars were pretty darn nice and here is an example...
I recently let go of another black american made 1978 tele that was auctioned here a few months ago... the new owner was a tele freak and he was in hog heaven when he received that very sweet maple board black tele...
well this early japanese built tele is every bit the player that american model is...
I picked this guitar up locally and it needed pickups and a pick guard... a new set of strings and a hard shell case... I just happened to have a 1978 tele bridge pickup... a brand new in the box seymour duncan quarter pounder neck pickup... a pickguard ... a set of ernie ball slinkys and a very good fender style hard shell case...
the necks alone sell for a good pile of franklins
the pickups are also very cool
this tele will be the one you take out and play and you'll be able to keep your precious vintage pieces at home safe where they belong... this neck is xlnt ... frets are hardly worn... straight with no issues... these pickups are a nice pair and work and sound xlnt... the guitar has normal wear for a player... not excessive... just a player... the quality factory gotoh tuners feel very smooth and stay in tune... The bridge is solid and the six adjustable saddles intonate nicely...
I know the purists will pass on this sweet player... I just thought I'd throw this one out there for the guitarist that likes a good quality guitar to play the clubs and not have to worry about that very expensive vintage hard to replace guitar!
I took a few pics and can take more if needed... forgot the case but it is very much like the f-case... black tolex and black fur inside... all latches work
...the last tele I let go of belongs to a tele player that was so happy when he tuned her up after opening the package... he had to let me know!
